Lesson Makeover using Minecraft Education

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Educators are skilled lesson designers but learning how to design a lesson in Minecraft Education can be a daunting task for anyone! Let me help you! Bring a lesson idea or a standard that you would like to redesign or use so that the learning takes place in Minecraft Education. We will work collaboratively to help you make over that lesson. We will use a lesson plan template to guide our thinking and participants will walk away with a lesson that you can use when you return to the classroom! This session can also be attended by curriculum leaders and lesson designers in order to learn about out how Minecraft Education can shift instruction and engagement within a lesson. Minecraft Education does not have to be currently used in the school system to attend this session but familiarity with the tool is a plus.

The outcomes from this session are:
1) To learn how to take an existing lesson or a specific standard and design a learning opportunity for students with Minecraft as the platform/tool used.
2) To gain confidence in designing game-based learning opportunities like Minecraft.
3) To connect with peers around lesson design in game-based learning.
4)Create a lesson that can be used in the classroom tomorrow
